Elsie’s Kitchen, tucked away in a hidden gem of a food court in Plymouth, serves incredible Eritrean and Ethiopian cuisine that feels like a warm hug from home. Every dish is made from scratch using generational recipes, bursting with authentic flavors that truly showcase the delicacies of the region. Don’t miss the traditional Ethiopian coffee—organic, rich, and unlike anything else, it’s the perfect way to complete your meal. Amazing food, cozy vibes, and an unforgettable experience—highly recommend! Thanks Again, Elsie! Definitely coming back making it routine 👌🏽- Service

Everything was so delicious, perfectly cooked and spiced, all the flavours went together perfectly. Elsie has so much love for what she cooks and took time to talk us through all of the dishes, even bringing extra injera. We left with big smiles and a happy glow inside!

The food was delightful - it was so nice to experience something different. The injera bread was a wonderful base for the delicious and vibrant vegetarian dishes that Elsie prepared.
The meal was concluded with a cup of flavourful Jabulani coffee, expertly prepared by Anna. We enjoyed it so much, we bought a bag to take home.
Elsie's Habesha Cuisine is a little hard to find - it's within The Plot business centre on Union Street. But it is definitely worth taking the time to find and enjoy. Elsie & Anna are interesting, delightful hosts and it was a real pleasure to talk with them.
We very much look forward to returning again.- Service

Came here today for the first time, also my first time in The Plot (which is it located in). The food court feels so homely and like a community, everyone is so friendly. There are three different food vans in the room, one do them selling only drinks, so you can always mix and match if you’re in a large group.
It was my first time trying Ethiopian/Eritrean food, and it was sooo gooodd! I hadn’t eaten yet and I’m so gladd because it enabled me to enjoy the food to the fullest. I’m surprised more people don’t know about it, would definitely recommend especially for students. Elsie is so lovely, and was telling us about Ethiopia whilst she was preparing the food. It was a lovely environment and i’ll 100% be back soon.- Service

Food is great, Elsie is the most hospital person you can ask for. The restaurant is located in a backstreet which might not be ideal. This however is not a reflection of Elsie and her food which is a 5 star. I recommend anyone to try the food next time you are In Plymouth.

Had the Tibsi Derho. Chicken stew with lentils with Injera ( a sort of pancake) food was tasty and filling. Staff really freindly and happy to answer my questions on ingredients. Will certainly come again thank you.
